Untitled draft

A river courses through earth and sky
And returns back to whence it came
A full circle

Love starts with a trickling glance,
Runs into regret and flooding tears,
It then dries and never doth flow again

Reflections for a friend

I’m getting married!- she said
He’s the one, I'm sure of it!
Be happy for me, you’re my friend
I know you will be.

He’s so wrong for her…I know it
Sometimes, being a friend, you have to know
Its' not your decision
Its' not your life.
And you surface the joy that is missing
From your heart

Where is he? Why are you always alone?
No, he wanted to come, really he did...
But he’s tired
Yes, he wanted to celebrate our anniversary too,
but you know? His work…
He wanted to but he couldn’t,
He wish he could but of course it was impossible...
He really wanted to…no, of course he wanted to…

He tried to kill me, she said
Thought I was carrying on with another man
Took a pillow
And nearly suffocated me

It’s over – she said.
He’s so wrong for me,
Now I know it.

----------------
I wrote this upon learning what a friend is going through in her unhappy marriage. Obviously i was very disturbed when i heard her story and wondered why she is still sticking around. I suppose there's alot about love i have yet to understand, my husband nizan always advises me not to give counsel when it comes to other peoples' marriages and problems. I know he's right, the decision to know when a marriage has gone bad is hers alone to make. I hope she realizes it soon becos no man is worth all that.

A stray thought and resulting weird rambling

I had a vision of love as perfect as diamonds and pearls and crimson rosebuds
with lips shying to bloom.
Its’ other face,
Poison and cataclysm.

I wish to fall in love with the shy stranger
on the train going nowhere.
To feel the clichéd paths of emotions that everyone professes to have felt but
could find no adequate words to express where it came from and why it had to end

To experience the magic that comes out of communication
that needed no words but a shared understanding in a pregnant glance
Feeling that odd pulse of desire and sorrow in knowing that life will never be the same thereafter

I dream of the love that bleeds my heart dry,
that makes the flesh ache
The love that when it leaves, feels like a million violent shards is there in place of what used to be me.

BLUE

The colour of jubilant sky,
Sapphire-crystal sea
and a sign on a pregnancy kit result

The womb feels strangely irrelevant
Its chatter echoes, falls silent, unheard
An eternity stretches

The womb slumbers
It dreams of baby-blue woollen socks
Chubby knees marked by playground grazes
lollipop-stained lips
Matted pig-tails and cherub faces
Twinkling brightly in the sun

Reminiscent of sapphire-crystal sea
and a blue jubilant sky
